Join artists Dan Burkholder and Karen Klinedinst as they discuss strategies and best practices for transferring, backing up, archiving, and printing our mobile images; and how that can fit into the larger issue of safekeeping our family photos, favorite pics, and other important images.

Workshop length - 1 1/2 hours with an additional ½ hour for questions and answers.

Dan Burkholder was one of the first fine art photographers to champion digital technology by creating the digital negative in 1992. His platinum/palladium prints combine the control of digital technology with the classic beauty of the handmade darkroom print. Bridging the classic history of photography with the digitally-based world of photography today, Dan has inspired thousands of photographers with his willingness to present his knowledge through humor-filled workshops and digital publications. He continues to share his enthusiasm for new cameras, techniques, and approaches along with more than a few gadgets thrown in for good measure.
Karen Klinedinst is an artist using photography to explore themes of place, nature, and the environment. Inspired by the 19th-century landscape painting of the Hudson River School, she creates richly layered landscapes that combine the real with the imagined. Since 2011, she has been using her iPhone and many photo editing apps to create her unique photographic style. Her work has been exhibited nationally, including Soho Photo Gallery, University of Maryland Global Campus, Center for Fine Art Photography, Center for Photographic Art, the Biggs Museum of American Art, and the Griffin Museum of Photography.
