STATEMENT
The Center for Fine Art and Photography is proud to present Mimesis, a solo exhibition by Claire Warden. Through alternative processes such as manual manipulation and saliva, Warden explores the forces that create an identity. Warden’s alternative processes serve to enhance her concept, representing “the biologic and socio-cultural forces that stimulate the emergence and performance of an identity.” These pieces in a very real and subtle way “reveal truths about identity and the inadequacies of language to describe oneself.” Through beautifully arresting and unique images, this exhibition encourages introspection into the complex concept and perception of identity.
