July 5, 2013

The Black & White exhibition will open for its ninth annual year at The Center for Fine Art Photography. This exhibition was juried by Elizabeth Corden and Jan Potts of the Corden|Potts Gallery in San Francisco. Corden|Potts is dedicated to exhibiting the work of outstanding contemporary photographers. Several local photographers were accepted into the exhibition in the blind jury process, Local artist include Adrian Davis from Loveland, William Horton from Boulder, Karen Kirkpatrick of Centennial, and Gordon Middleton of Loveland. These artists will be showing alongside many more national and international artists. We are excited to share this talented groups work in our main gallery.

The Jurors selected work which “jumped out to make us notice them and evoke a response” picking from a broad range of subject matter that includes land and seascape, architecture, portraiture, still life, dream worlds and everyday reality. From Jamey Stilling’s crisp aerial photos of solar power plants to Kathleen Taylor’s triptych narrative “Three Acts”. They are related in tonality but diverge greatly in which emotions they draw from the viewer.

Black & White will be on display in the Center's Online Gallery at c4fap.org, and in the Main Gallery at 400 North College Avenue, Fort Collins, Colorado from July 5- August 24, 2013. The artists' and public reception will take place August 2, 2013; from 6 - 9p.m. Please join the Center and artists from across the globe, for an evening of art, inspiration, and community.
