Documentary

New Deadline: May 19th, 2009



Theme:
 Documentary photography has the power to tell stories untold, create social change, awaken emotions, and show the intimate and unseen.  This exhibition will feature the artistic viewpoint of the documentary photographer. 

Eligibility: The exhibition is open to photographers world wide, both amateur and professional.  The Center for Fine Art Photography invites photographers working in all mediums, styles and schools of thought to participate
in its exhibitions. Experimental and mixed techniques
are welcome.

Juror: Ed Kashi
Ed Kashi is a photojournalist dedicated to documenting the social and political issues that define our times. His images have appeared in National Geographic, the New York Times Magazine, Time, MediaStorm, GEO, Newsweek, and many other domestic and international publications.

 

 

 

Important Dates:

  • Entries due: May 19, 2009
  • Notice of acceptance:  May 29, 2009
  • Exhibition dates: July 31 – August 22, 2009
  • Reception: August 7, 2009

Exhibition and Awards:
With selection for this exhibition, artists and their work will be seen by an international audience of collectors, curators, art consultants and others who appreciate the fine art of photography.

  • Juror’s Selection award: $300
  • SocialDocumentary.net Award (New):  One artist will be chosen to present a 6-image (minimum) exhibition of their documentary work on SocialDocumentary.net for one year and be featured on their home page for one week.  This award will be selected by Founder and Publisher of SocialDocumentary.net, Glenn Ruga.  Please visit www.SocialDocumentary.net for information

  • Director's Selection award: $200
  • Gallery Visitor’s Choice Award: $100
  • Two Artists’ ShowCase Online subscriptions for one year:
